Process Planning Engineer - Tool Room

Role & responsibilities

• Responsible for material planning and raising purchase requisitions for required materials, tools, and components. Coordinate with the sourcing team to ensure timely procurement and smooth completion of jobs through to the assembly of dies and moulds.
• Develop strong knowledge of tool room manufacturing processes and establish process targets. Identify opportunities and projects for process improvement, productivity enhancement, cost reduction, and cycle-time reduction.
• Study and review engineering drawings and 3D models to assess manufacturing feasibility. Provide constructive feedback to the Tool Design/Design team to improve manufacturability, dimensional accuracy, quality, and overall manufacturing efficiency.

Education

• UG: Diploma in Tool and Die Making, B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering

• Strong knowledge of Tool Room and Injection Mould Manufacturing
• CNC/VMC/HMC machining process knowledge
• EDM & Wire EDM process knowledge
• Grinding, milling, turning and fitting processes
• Tool, mould, die, jig & fixture manufacturing
• Drawing reading and GD&T
• Tooling and cutting-tool selection
